Inmarsat Berlin Conference - A great success

Inmarsat hosted their Partner Conference 2009 in Berlin this year just a few days ahead of the Festival of Freedom in celebration of the re-unification of Germany 20 years ago, and the removal of the Berlin Wall.

Another excellent event brought together Inmarsat Service Providers from around the World and the Iconics stand was a very popular centre of attention with people looking for new ways to generate business in their chosen geographic or market sector.

We have customers in many different sectors and the list continues to grow with new opportunites being brought to us every day. These include the more traditional areas such as Security, looking to extend the coverage of their 2-way radio systems to ensure the safety of ground based personnel. Maritime, with the ships radio system being extended to reach head office and agent alike. Energy companies wanting to give better coverage for the workers in remote locations and save money on leased line or dual manning of sites. Aid Agencies providing vital communications back to HQ and the UN regardless of frequency and manufacturer. Also several military operations using a BGAN to BGAN closed user group adding extra coverage and security to special operations.

We have even working with a company monitoring the migration path of locusts in the Middle East and a Motor Sports organisation needing to provide both voice and data communications to some of their more far flung events around the world. There really doesn't seem to be a limit to the opportunies out there and most of them require the provision of additional radio handsets and satellite terminals keeping both customer and supplier happy!

Iconics used for security of G8 Summit

We are very proud to announce that our Iconics system was used extensively to support the police and military operation for the security of the recent G8 summit in Italy. With several World Leaders attending the event it was essential to have comprehensive and reliable systems that integrated with existing radio networks. Iconics provided exactly this with mobile vehicular units, base stations and pc based users all able to comminicate with each other across the country.
